Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how HabitStride handles personal data. HabitStride is a local-first habit tracking app: you can use it without creating a HabitStride account, and your habit data remains on your device by default.
HabitStride is provided by CoreOrbit SRL. For privacy questions or requests, contact us at contact@coreorbit.ro.
1. How HabitStride works
HabitStride lets you create habits, track completions, use timers, schedule local reminders, join challenges, view progress, export local backups, and use optional health integrations where supported.
Optional health integrations can read steps, sleep, and workout data from Apple Health, HealthKit, Google Health Connect, or supported device health services after you grant permission.
2. Data stored on your device
If you use HabitStride, the app may store on your device:
- habit titles, descriptions, categories, icons, and schedules;
- reminder settings and reminder messages;
- completion history, skipped days, streaks, timers, counts, and goals;
- challenge progress, badges, points, and app preferences;
- local diagnostic journal entries used to understand app issues.
Habit titles, descriptions, and reminder messages are user-generated content. Avoid entering information you do not want stored on your device.
3. Optional health data
If you grant health permissions, HabitStride may read:
- step counts;
- sleep data;
- workout data, including workout duration where available;
- on Android Health Connect, related workout fields such as distance or calories where supported by the platform library.
Health data is used to update relevant habits. Health permissions are optional. If you do not grant permission, health sync features will not work, but manual tracking remains available where supported.
4. Optional screen-time data
On Android, if you grant Usage Access, HabitStride may read phone screen-time information for screen-time habits. This permission is optional and can be managed in your device settings.
5. Purchases and subscriptions
Premium purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. HabitStride uses a subscription entitlement provider to understand whether Premium features should be enabled. HabitStride does not process your payment card details.
6. Notifications
HabitStride uses local notifications. It does not use push notifications and does not collect push notification tokens. Local notification content may include habit-related text on your device.
7. Local backups and sharing
HabitStride includes a local JSON export feature. Exports can include habit state, progress, settings, and related backup data. If you share an export file, the chosen share destination is outside HabitStride's control.
8. Why we use data
We use data to:
- provide habit tracking, reminders, progress, and Premium features;
- restore purchases and manage entitlement status;
- respond to support and privacy requests;
- maintain app reliability, security, and legal compliance.
9. Service providers
Depending on the features you use, data may be processed by:
- Apple App Store or Google Play for billing and subscriptions;
- a subscription entitlement provider for Premium status;
- Apple Health, HealthKit, Google Health Connect, or device health services when you grant health permissions;
- Android system Usage Access services when you grant screen-time access;
- Vercel for hosting the public website;
- your chosen share target if you export or share a backup file.
We do not sell personal data. The current website does not use advertising tracking or analytics.
10. Reset, deletion, and retention
You can reset local HabitStride data in the app where the feature is available. Deleting the app may remove local app data depending on the operating system. App Store or Google Play billing records are managed by the relevant platform.
Support and privacy emails are kept only as long as needed to respond, resolve the request, and meet legal obligations.
11. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export your personal data, object to certain processing, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
To exercise rights, contact contact@coreorbit.ro. We may need information to verify your identity before acting on a request.
12. Children
HabitStride is intended for users who are at least 16 years old. If you believe a child under 16 has provided personal data, contact us.
13. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, legal requirements, or providers change. The date above will be updated when the policy changes.
