Terms of Use

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use HabitStride.

2. App functionality

HabitStride is a habit tracking app. It helps you create habits, track completions, use timers, schedule local reminders, view progress, use challenges, export local backups, and use optional health and screen-time integrations where supported.

HabitStride is local-first. You can use the app without a HabitStride account, and local habit data remains on your device by default.

3. User content

You are responsible for the habit titles, descriptions, reminder messages, notes, and other content you enter. This content may reveal sensitive personal information. Do not enter unlawful content or content you do not have the right to store.

You keep your rights in your content. You grant us the limited rights needed to operate the app features you choose, such as storing data on your device, enabling local backups, processing purchases, and responding to support.

4. Health and screen-time features

Health and screen-time integrations are optional and require user permission. They are provided for habit tracking and informational purposes only.

HabitStride does not provide medical, health, psychological, fitness, or professional advice. HabitStride should not be used to diagnose, treat, prevent, or monitor any disease or medical condition. Consult a qualified professional before making health-related decisions.

Health and screen-time information may depend on operating system availability, device support, platform APIs, and permissions.

5. Notifications

HabitStride uses local notifications. Local notifications are scheduled on your device and may depend on device settings, operating system rules, permissions, Focus modes, battery settings, and time zone behavior.

HabitStride does not guarantee that any reminder will be delivered at a specific time.

6. Subscriptions, purchases, and billing

HabitStride may offer paid Premium features through monthly or yearly subscription options where available. Exact prices are shown in the app before purchase and may vary by region, currency, store, taxes, and platform rules.

Purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. Billing, renewal, cancellation, refund handling, and payment terms are governed by the relevant store terms and mandatory consumer law.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through your Apple App Store or Google Play account before the renewal deadline set by the platform. Deleting the app does not automatically cancel an active subscription.

7. Local backups

HabitStride may allow you to export or restore local backup files. Backup and restore actions can affect local data. Read confirmation dialogs carefully before continuing, and keep your own copy if you need an independent backup.

8. Acceptable use

You must not:

• misuse, disrupt, reverse engineer, or attack the app except where permitted by law;
• attempt unauthorized access to purchase, entitlement, or store systems;
• use the app to store unlawful, harmful, or infringing content;
• interfere with billing, entitlement, restore purchase, or support systems;
• use the app in a way that violates applicable law.

9. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, including Premium features and provider-backed integrations. We will not remove mandatory consumer rights.

The app may be unavailable because of maintenance, provider downtime, network issues, operating system changes, store policy changes, or other events outside our reasonable control.

10. Intellectual property

HabitStride, including its software, design, branding, text, icons, and other app materials, is owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership of HabitStride to you.

You may use HabitStride only as allowed by these Terms and the applicable app store rules.

11. Warranty disclaimer

HabitStride is provided with reasonable care and skill, but it is not guaranteed to be error-free, uninterrupted, perfectly secure, or suitable for every purpose.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable consumer law.

12. Liability

We are responsible for losses caused by our breach of these Terms where liability cannot be excluded by law. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect losses, loss of data caused by user action or device failure, lost profits, business interruption, or losses caused by third-party services outside our control.

For EU consumers, nothing in these Terms excludes or limits mandatory rights, remedies, or liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

13. Termination

You may stop using HabitStride at any time. You may also reset local data on your device where the app provides that option.

We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, if a provider requires it, or if needed to protect users, the app, or service integrity.

14. Governing law and consumer rights

These Terms are governed by Romanian law, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rights that apply in your country of residence.

If you are an EU consumer, you may have mandatory rights under EU and local consumer law that these Terms cannot remove.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the app, providers, legal requirements, or business details change. The date above will be updated when the Terms change.
